I didn't realize it was this bad until I saw the image

I had seen headlines about this but didn't see the actual painting. No joke, a woman took it upon herself to restore this fresco and completely messed it up.Here's the before and after.

"The woman, in her 80s, was reportedly upset at the way the fresco had deteriorated and took it on herself to "restore" the image."

Everything about this story makes me want to say this is a fake news story and someone is trolling the world, but it seems to be true.  The painting is just so terrible.
