Bar makes money by giving away $25 to everyone Friday, December 23, 2011 | comments

well, under certain circumstances at least.

As you can read about over on Consumerist, there was a bar out in Miami that "announced it would pay out $25 credits to every customer in bar on any night the team lost."

And yet they did well (the team and the bar)
"It's great business for us," Todora said. "Our marketing philosophy is that we want to be the loudest kid in the room. It's no secret that Florida is a very fair weather state in terms of their rooting interest of their teams. When the Heat weren't playing well, bars around us were complaining about lack of business. But we retained our customers."

Beyond that, Todora says the average person at the bar spent around $30 on the nights when the Heat played, around 36% more than the average check on a non-game night. So the extra money from those nights helped to defray the costs of the nights when he only netted $5/check.

but at least once she starts playing with Legos, we will basically have a bunch of caltrops on the floor.

Check it out. Very similar to one of my first ever posts about a table that became a buckler shield and club, here is a coffee table that becomes a riot shield.

From this awful library book, this supposedly is one of the 101 best pick up lines.

So use this pickup line. You'll either completely creep someone out or walk away with a picture of someone's face smushed against some glass.

Which wouldn't be a bad thing if you were the guy that made a photo of his dad by making it one dot at a time over a crazy amount of hours using over a million dots. He might use it as his next source material.

If that doesn't charm 'em, there's always this sure-fire line:

Herman Cain suspended his presidential campaign and finally admitted he'd been quoting the Pokemon 2000 movie. Before there was a chance that maybe he had heard the song somewhere other than pokemon, however here's an excerpt from a news article.

"I believe these words came from the Pokemon movie," Cain said. "Life can be a challenge. Life can seem impossible. It's never easy when there's so much on the line. But you and I can make a difference. There's a mission just for you and me."
