Did you know that one day, there was a NYTimes Crossword Puzzle that had two correct solutions? The clue itself read "Lead story in tomorrow's newspaper (!), with 43A:" At the time, of course the election wasn't decided yet, so you could fill out the crossword depending on who you thought would win and and still fit with all the other clues.

See more about what the other clues were: http://www.crosswordunclued.com/2009/01/nyt-election-day-crossword.html

Have too much money to spend? Why not buy a leather Jimmy Choo sleeve for your coffee for $165?

Karen sent me this through a forwarded nylon post

This has ruined my amazon recommendations forever Sunday, January 15, 2012 | comments

Every time I see one of these, I have to click on it to see it up close, so now Amazon is like "Wow, you sure like looking at these shirts. Why don't you buy yourself something nice?"

You've likely already seen the three wolf moon shirt (if you haven't, catch up with how it became a known thing), but it turns out they make all sorts of shirts. The company is "The Mountain" if you want to look them up, but these are ones that seem to have the most narrow market possible.

So, this exists: teen zombie romance. Saturday, January 14, 2012 | comments

From the amazon description:
"R is a young man with an existential crisis--he is a zombie. He shuffles through an America destroyed by war, social collapse, and the mindless hunger of his undead comrades, but he craves something more than blood and brains. He can speak just a few grunted syllables, but his inner life is deep, full of wonder and longing. He has no memories, noidentity, and no pulse, but he has dreams.

After experiencing a teenage boy's memories while consuming his brain, R makes an unexpected choice that begins a tense, awkward, and stragely sweet relationship with the victim's human girlfriend. Julie is a blast of color in the otherwise dreary and gray landscape that surrounds R. His decision to protect her will transform not only R, but his fellow Dead, and perhaps their whole lifeless world."
Oh and this is also becoming a movie. Movie reviewers, get your "trying to get warm bodies into movie theater seats" puns ready.

NO MOM, HE'S DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER ZOMBIES! YOU CAN'T KEEP ME FROM HIM, I LOVE HIM!

This kid got to make a wish for Make-A-Wish. Did he go to Disneyland? Tuesday, January 10, 2012 | comments

No.

He blew up a building.
