Wedding dress made from the parachute that saved the groom's life
So there was a B-29 pilot in WWII who had to bail out over Japan when the engine caught fire. When he proposed, he offered the parachute that saved his life as material for a wedding gown, and a seamstress was able to take it and turn it into this. It even still has parachute strings on the front so she can pull it up in the front. More info over on boingboing. No word from the CRAFT post if his crewmen survived to be white-suited groomsmen.
