It's another thing to be paranoid

Last week I had two people stop by wanting to see an apartment. I told them "Great! Have a seat and we'll look through some floor plans" But they just wanted to head out right then and there and see an apartment. I told them that first we should narrow it down from our eight different floor plans and that I wanted to go through some quick questions before we headed out. I asked them to get out a driver’s license and pointed at the policy sign we have that says we need photo ID to show any apartment.

Showing me their licenses they were fine with but “what kind of questions are they?” the woman asked.

“Just basic information about what you’re looking for and info so we can get a hold of you. Name, address, phone, when you’re looking to move in, if you have pets, how many people would be living there, and how you heard about us.”

“Never mind then” she said “The driver’s licenses we would be fine with, but we don’t want to answer any questions”

So I couldn’t show them an apartment both because of policy and because I didn’t even know what in the world they wanted. I don’t know how they intend to actually get an apartment (which requires an application and credit check) if they can’t even tell someone if they have a cat or not.
