Finding a $10 bill would be better Tuesday, October 28, 2008 | comments
I started looking through some of the papers yesterday, however, and among them was a class schedule from college dated 1/9/2006, making it over two and a half years old.
Obama and McCain joke around Friday, October 17, 2008 | comments
I'm glad they're able to joke around about this whole election/debate process:
"Being a friend and colleague of Barack, I just called him 'that one.' [laughter] My friends, he doesn't mind at all," McCain said. "In fact, he even has a pet name for me: George Bush."
"[...]But it wasn't until Thursday morning that the Knight's Grading & Excavating worker, who was readying a westside Ann Arbor home for a sewer line replacement, flipped one of the 100-pound slabs over.
"Beloved Wife, Mother Viola T. Bagnasco, 1901-1969."
Stunned, he turned over the rest of the stones: All were grave markers.
And though they did not need to pull up the remaining 51 1x2-foot slabs that made up the walkway, he and company owner Bob Knight said they are sure they too are grave markers.

Her: Hi Mike, this is [I Forget Her Name] and I had recently put a deposit down on a house
Me: Ok, and how can I help you? [we get a lot of people that move after buying a house]
Her: Well we put a deposit down of a thousand dollars on a bed and were were supposed to get it back.
Me: I'm sorry, a bed?
Her: (Getting angry) No!
Me: Did you put in an application for an apartment? [at this point I realize she's a wrong number but she's being so vague I dont' want to dismiss her when she may mean something like "security deposit" but just not know the word.]
Her: No we put down a thousand dollars and we were SUPPOSED to get it back in 30 days but we HAVENT
Me: Are you trying to--
Her: And because we canceled we were supposed to get our money back!
Me: I'm sorry are you--
Her: Wait this isn't Better Homes Realty?
Neuman wannabe stores mail rather than delivering it Wednesday, October 1, 2008 | comments
More than 9,000 pieces of mail - including first class, magazines and priority parcels - were discovered in a storage unit in Livingston County, stashed there by a carrier who just couldn't keep up with her route, authorities said Tuesday.
"Hull said she was unable to get the mail delivered on time, so she left what she could not deliver in her car and drove around with it,'' Mills wrote.
"She said after a couple of weeks of doing this, she realized that nobody seemed to notice that she did not deliver it. ... At that point, she knew she had to get rid of the undelivered mail,'' Mills said."
